Maria Lena & Gerry Stafford
Well...you take Acoustic Rock...

classic rock, progressive, and a splash of original and classical and you get Maria Lena & Gerry Stafford ...  Max Ex!

"We are doing exactly what we've always wanted to do, play the music that we love and at the same time set ourselves apart from other acoustic duos.  We're different.  We bring out the songs that surprise. When we see friends singing along, tapping their feet, sometimes get up and dance if in the mood, we know we've done our job!  To be able to play the music we love, share with others and bring friends together, that is a gift for everyone."

"Once in awhile a band comes along, and while the songs are familiar, the sound is unique, and that's us..."  Maria Lena from Max Ex

The score to the movie is coming along wonderfully.  I am in awe of what Gerry has written.  I will be putting some of the music to a trailer soon.  I love doing this!  Being creative is the way to live!

Just in case you haven't heard we have been asked to score a movie which is being filmed in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard, written and directed by Paul Antonelli!    You can find him on Facebook!  Gerry has already written some beautiful pieces and there are even parts for me with autoharp, flute and vocals yay!... It is a great script and again we can't say enough how grateful and very honored we are to be a part of it. Maria Lena & Gerry Stafford (aka “Max Ex”) (Acoustic Duo)
www.facebook.com/maxexband  www.acousticmaxex.com  www.myspace.com/mariaandgerry 781-835-5703

This incredible duo plays those rare songs that people love to hear, such as that Classic Legend, “Thick as a Brick”. Everywhere they perform they bring excitement and electricity to the stage. Gerry Stafford is a master and a teacher of many different kinds of Guitars, Mandolin, Keys. His vocals have the charm and accent of the English speaking Bard. His partner Maria Souza plays Flute, Autoharp, and also a little Keyboard, Tambourine, Shakers, etc... “anything that makes noise”... And her rich vocals vibrate with mystery.

Both presently living in Medford, Gerry is from the band "Ste. Gerard", formerly "GSB." Maria is formerly from "Synthesis" and "Full Moon" and a few acoustic duos here and there. Together now, they are collaborating and creating something very special, doing Acoustic Classic, Progressive, & Original Rock, playing to perfection those mysterious kinds of 70’s songs that only the most progressive radio stations would dare to play after the midnight hours, to that special brand of rebel seeking the deeper meanings of life and living.

We've added :The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot
And Finally...We are now finishing up Jackie Blue and recording the score to the Movie "Sea of Destiny"
